Matched but not?

Help! I got the first four characters, followed that instruction, got 12 more characters and followed that instruction as well, which gave me a three digit number and it's the wrong answer. Is there a further step, or have I made a mistake?

Edit: ha, got it!

This is apparently where I'm on too. Any nudges in the right direction available?

EDIT: Yep, there's a further step, but all the working up to here is good.
